1/22/2024 0 Comments Diablo 4 vs path of exile 2![]() ![]() But that's thrown to the wayside with just how BAD so much of the game looks now. Some of the newer maps in PoE I think look really good. The moves they've made to let you focus in on some mechanics more then others is good, but the idea that playing a brand new game like D4 comes with wanting to do every bit of content it has, even if that's only because it doesn't have very much at launch, *feels* better then trying to actively lessen how much content I do in PoE. The brand new, fresh game is extremely appealing. So those are my four reasons why i personally am more exited about Diablo IV but as long as there are not going to be any p2w and only MTX stuff that is allowed is going to be cosmetic, so similar to path of exile (but hopefully not real money gated content like leagues or QoL improvements like premium stash tabs) i think Diablo IV will be an awesome game but ofc i hope PoE 2 will also be an awesome game and maybe even better than Diablo IV. An other thing blizzard is known for is high quality Cinematics and hollywood lever screenwriting while im pretty sure most people dont care about the story of path of exile. Graphics seems MUCH better already in the alpha gameplay of Diablo IV footage than anything i have ever seen in path of exile and Blizzard is known to have quality optimization for their games while path of exile can lag with 10k gaming computer for absolutely unknown reasons, and while i know graphics is really low priority to some people i think they are important to the game. I feel PoE in its current state already have too much content, or like some like to say it's "bloated", getting completely new and fresh game with good foundation to add more content after it's release is better than to just to add more to a bloated game, path of exile 2 would be much better as a completely new and fresh game. Diablo IV is completely new game / complete sequel and PoE 2 is just and uber expansion with completely new campaign but same-ish end game (so the most important part of any Diablo like aRPG) For now however, things are not looking too good for Diablo 4 especially in South Korea.I am actually much more hyped about Diablo 4 for these reasons: Furthermore, Blizzard has announced annual expansions, which promise to deliver new content to players.īlizzard would certainly be hoping to entice players back into the game with these new additions, but whether the content will meet players’ expectations remains to be seen. If the lack of content is the problem, then this might be short-lived, as Diablo 4 Season 2 titled “Season of Blood” is coming next month. This event was discussed on Reddit, where players pointed to the lack of end-game content as the reason for the game’s drop in popularity. So, the recent decline in interest is indeed surprising. Diablo series in particular has enjoyed significant success in the region. ![]() The thing to note here is that Blizzard is quite popular in South Korea, with their games being played for extended periods. Per Reddit user jinjin5000, the livestream didn’t fare that well either, as it barely managed to hit a peak of 300 concurrent watchers on the official Diablo channel. The event had barely any people attendance, and one of the streamers who was live-streaming was asked to stop when he inquired about the low turnout.Ĭheck out images of the event and marvel at the empty rows of seats. Is Diablo 4 in trouble? This seems to be the case - at least in South Korea, as the “State of Diablo 4 Event that recently took place was met with a thud than a loud bang. As more players complete the main story and reach the end-game, they seem to lose interest, even with Blizzard’s seasonal format. While Diablo 4 was released this June to critical acclaim and achieved huge sales,it seems the game’s staying power isn’t as impressive. ![]()
